Our Principals

Joe KlenotichCMC

Joe has over 30 years of experience in industrial marketing research and consulting. His background emphasizes New Product Definition, Distribution Channel Research, Technology Evaluation, and Competitive Analysis. He has led projects on HVAC equipment, electrical equipment, construction equipment, automotive and heavy truck parts. Joe is a member of various trade and professional groups and is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC). He has authored several papers. He received an MBA in Marketing from Loyola University of Chicago, and a B.M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Gannon University in 1969

Joe is a founding Principal of Marketplan and has recently enjoyed a retainer relationship with two startup endeavors—Indoor Comfort Group, a consolidator of HVAC contractors where he headed the acquisition team; ChemSensing, a technology group commercializing a new sensor technology, where he was in charge of business development.


Ed KubbaCMC

Ed has over 25 years of experience in marketing research and consulting, and over 10 years in management positions. His areas of expertise include New Product Research, Customer Satisfaction, Customer Value Analysis and Business Development research. He received a M.Sc. in Marketing and Management from Northwestern University (1982), and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Durham University, England (1962). Ed is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and a member of several trade and professional associations. He lectured on industrial marketing and strategy at several universities, most recently in Northeastern Illinois University.


Ted Squires

Ted is an expert in new product development, marketing research and QFD (Quality Function Deployment). Over the past fifteen years, he has facilitated over 20 QFD projects for Case, Motorola, GE Aircraft Engines, GE Medical and Kodak Ted authored and presented several articles on new product development. He received an MBA from the University of Chicago, and B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.


M.P. "Sid" Siddarth

Sid has over 15 years of marketing consulting experience with a particular background related to the “energy” business by virtue of completed assignments for: gas and electric utilities, industry associations, equipment suppliers and manufacturers of HVAC products, building materials and other products. He has an MBA from Lehigh University, Marketing (1982) an MS from Vanderbilt University in Structural Engineering, and a BTech IIT, Madras, Civil Engineering.


David P. Morgan

Dave has over 25 years experience in management consulting, market research, and marketing communications/advertising. He is a graduate of Northern Illinois University (1971) and has taken post graduate studies at Loyola University of Chicago in International Marketing. Dave has written several articles on building construction methods and equipment; plus other articles on commercial industrial lighting and lighting energy. He is also a published author.


John A. ShemancikMBA/CPA

Senior financial executive experienced in strategic planning, general and operational management, treasury, controllership, operational systems, mergers/ acquisitions, risk management and business development. Background includes private start-ups, public corporations, large private and nonprofit companies. Experience with various accounting systems. Multi-industry and international experience. In-depth capital markets knowledge. John has an M.B.A. from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA, and a B.A. from Grove City College, Grove City, PA.


Miguel D. Zweig

Since the mid-1970s, Miguel has focused on assessing the market position and outlook for specific companies, products and technologies including the competitive environment, trends and outlook and distribution alternatives. He has supported due diligence activities for acquisitions; identified investment opportunities; assisted in the identification of success factors, customers’ needs, supplier’s image, etc.

He has consulted worldwide—including the USA, Canada, Mexico, most countries of Central and South America, Europe (Western, Central and Eastern Europe), Central Asia, Asia/Pacific (including Australia, India, China, Japan, Taiwan and most Southeast Asian countries) and several countries of Africa and the Middle East. Miguel earned his MS in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his BS in Food Science and Technology from the University of Massachusetts. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian and has some knowledge of French.
